Gary steps up his pursuit for a 2018 Staysure Tour card this week at the Q-School Finals in Pestana, Portugal. With five cards up for grabs for the top five finishers in a field of over seventy-six competitors, Gary will be hoping to use his recent performances in Portugal to land himself a place in the top five come the 1st of February.
The field of seventy-six includes forty-two qualifiers from stage one who had been battling for the chance to compete in Q School Finals last week at Gramacho and Silves golf clubs respectively. English amateur golfer John Kemp carded the lowest score on the Silves course finishing one stroke ahead of Argentina’s Rafael Gomez and three strokes ahead of fellow countryman Mark Booth. Whilst Mauricio Molina who made a top 40 finish in the 2017 Senior Open Presented by Rolex topped the bill on the Gramacho Course, finishing two shots ahead of Englishman David Shacklady.
Gary tees off at Q-School Finals in the final group at 11:00am GMT on Monday morning. Live Scoring for the event can be found here:http://www.europeantour.com/staysuretour/qualifying/season=2018/tournamentid=2018806/leaderboard/index.html#/leaderboard
Everyone at Champions of Golf wishes Gary all the best as he hopes to continue his impressive start to 2018.
