Having never finished outside the top 10 in all of his previous four starts at the Swiss Seniors Open (previously the Bad Ragaz PGA Seniors Open) Gary will be aiming to go one step further this week and lift his piece of European Senior Tour silverware in 2015 at this year’s instalment of the Championship this week.

Away for two weeks back to back, this is a critical point in all European Senior players’ season with five tournaments under their belts and with only a handful more to go. Added to this the pressure of having to finish inside the top 20 on the Order of Merit just to retain your card for the following season the stakes have never been higher. However the two week stretch is perfect preparation for the Senior Open Championship, this year held at one of Gary’s favourite courses, Sunningdale, where he will be hoping that a run of good finishes and great play will culminate in a strong showing in front of a home crowd.

Since 2006 Golf Club Bad Ragaz has been the host venue for this championship so all the professionals including Gary are very familiar with the course. Gary’s best finish at the event came in his maiden outing in 2011 where he finished third, he followed that up with a 10^th place in 2012 which was bettered in both 2013 (5^th) and more recently in 2014 (9^th) so Gary certainly has pedigree around this Peter Harradine Snr designed flat, tree lined course.
