The college which boasts an impressive 9 hole golf course, indoor golf academy and high quality playing and coaching staff is widely recognised as one of the best golfing colleges in the country. Gary has said of the IIGE: "I hope to share my considerable experience of top international competition from the last 25 years and my in depth knowledge of the sport to aid IIGE in developing young people that are serious about enhancing their skills within the game. I believe this will become the way forward for developing player to truly fulfil their potential."
"I am looking forward to working with this highly ambitious team to help continue the development of the programme into what I believe will be one of the best educational golf schemes in the world".
Adding Gary to its coaching staff is a major boost to IIGE's credentials in the golfing industry. He has a vast list of achievements to his name including two British Amateur titles, numerous tournament wins around the world with victories on all five continents, a feat very few players have ever achieved, as well as appearances at the US Open, Masters, and British Open championships. He has recently turned professional and in October competed on the European Tour at the Portuguese Masters at Victoria GC, Villamoura, which is the venue for IIGE's 72 hole Tour Final this coming June.
David Grecic, Director of the International Institute for Golf Education, commented: "We are extremely fortunate to be able to work with a person of Gary's stature in the game. He is meticulous and professional in everything that he does and will act as a wonderful role model for our aspiring elite golfers. What Gary brings to the team is an unrivalled knowledge and experience of match play golf and an incredible desire to help the development of golf's next generation. His enthusiasm to work with youngsters and put something back into the game is infectious and it spurs all of us on to continually assess where we are with our programme and strive to make IIGE's courses even better.
Throughout the year we will keep you up to date with Gary's involvement with the International Institute of Golf Education.
